With 357,561,824 photographs in their gallery, Webshots has one of the largest photo libraries on the web and is “TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award” photo sharing service. You can browse hundreds of online photo albums on every topic–from flowers to Ferraris.

Webshots offers a number of ways to share your photos with friends and family. Share your pictures through photo messages, online photo albums, custom prints and gifts. This service matches dotPhoto in a number of areas, but doesn’t offer unlimited storage space.

Webshots claims to have over 23 million visitors a month, which gives them tremendous credibility. We, at TopTenREVIEWS, agree—this is a top–notch service. You can download photos to your desktop or mobile phone, share photos online in private or public albums, order film–quality prints and customized gifts and connect with friends, family and millions of users worldwide.

Even with a Webshots free account you have a number of possibilities. You can upload photos and monitor the number of views and downloads they get each week, manage contacts in your address book, receive a weekly email newsletter with all the daily photos of the week and leave messages in community photo albums.

Of course, with a paid account, you can enjoy more features. You can license your images with the Webshots gallery and become part of the world’s largest photo sharing service. Additionally, you can upload up to 3000 photos to your homepage.

This service provides an uploading program that you can easily install on your system that makes batch uploads convenient. You can also post pictures directly from your camera phone. While uploading photos, you can add captions and titles and perform some basic editing like cropping and rotating.

Some other practical features offered by Webshots include custom gifts like greeting cards, calendars, mugs and mouse pads. You can also order prints of your favorite photos, whether they’re your own, or from the gallery. Orders are fulfilled through EZ Prints, Inc., an online digital photo and image printing company.

Though this is very practical site, you can’t upload video clips, add viewer comments to the photos or sell your photographs through a shopping cart system.

Webshots removes all copyright violations or sexually explicit photos from their site.

Ease of Use of the Service:  

This service makes it easy to browse the millions of photographs with user–friendly navigation tabs. Everything is well–labeled and categorized. Even computer novices should be able to quickly use the service to store and share their pictures.

The only thing we would change about the site is the number of advertisements. You can remedy this by purchasing the premium service for a few dollars a month.

Help/Support:  

Even though Webshots doesn’t offer phone support, they do offer an extensive help section that contains a lot of useful information. There is a FAQs page with the answers to common questions and if you can’t find the answer here, there is an email address to contact tech support.

Summary:  

Webshots is an outstanding photo sharing service for families or professionals. Families can stay in touch with pictures and professionals can display their photos for the world to see. Although you can’t upload videos and post comments like on other sites, Webshots offers the largest database of photos on the web.
