Fotki attracts an international audience of more than one million people with photo sharing, blogging, printing and selling and is “TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award” photo sharing service. Like the #1 website, this service offers unlimited photo storage with premium memberships.
This site falls behind the top two services because it doesn’t allow you to form private groups and unlike the dotPhoto, you can’t upload video to Fotki.
Whether you choose to sign up with the free account or the premium membership account, Fotki has many useful features that are simple to use. For starters, this service has various options to upload your photos and build your album. You can upload a group of pictures in a batch upload or individually upload a photo. You can also retrieve a picture from another website, use a file transfer protocol (FTP) client, email your picture or send it directly from a mobile device like a cell phone.
The site has an advanced properties screen where you can change specific settings dealing with copyright, photo view size, album icon, who posts or views comments and album description in full size. Furthermore, you can dictate photo frame style, album layout, who can access originals, who can order prints of your photos, whether the camera model is shown, who can share your photos and more.
Fotki has a unique online journal where you can write about your photography and pictures. You can set limitations to keep your journal private or allow others to view your journal. You can even give others access to post comments in your journal.
Premium members can sell prints of their photos at a price they set and even have access to a convenient selling cart. Once you set a price for pictures in a particular album, the “Allow Downloading of Originals” and “Allow Printing of Photos” preferences are automatically disabled for this album.
Fotki has a Safe Filtering option to limit access to objectionable images. The safe filter can be turned on or off.
Fotki is easy to use—even the first time you visit the site and set up your account. We didn’t have any problems uploading our first group of photos. If later you want to reorganize or change some of the album names—no worries, you can edit any of your account settings with ease.
Fotki has an organized and detailed “help” page that lists the various features and aspects of the service. Just click on a feature or subject for further information. You can contact customer support via email, user form or by telephone. Fotki has two phone numbers, one toll–free for the U.S. and one for the UK.
Fotki is easy to use and the premium service is reasonably priced. This is an excellent service for someone trying to sell prints over the web. Even if you just create a free account, you will have access to a number of valuable features that will help you store and share photographs.
