You cannot browse photo galleries in AOL Pictures without signing up for an account. However, once you create an account, there are entertaining galleries with tons of pictures. One section called AOL Visions is where top photojournalists bring you the world in pictures. There are several interesting galleries including Gallery Highlights, Pictures of the Week, Editors’ Picks, In Focus, In Print, Behind the Lens, Nature’s Best and On Exhibit.
If you prefer amateur photography, check out the section entitled Member Pictures of the Week. This area gives members a chance to showcase their talents. The top photos are displayed and other members can vote on their favorite; the overall favorite will be displayed the next week. There are other sub–sections entitled Member Galleries, Picture–Perfect Gifts and Photography Boards.
In order to use this service to its full potential, you need to agree to install the AOL tools.
Uploading your pictures is easy and quick and the site is a cinch to navigate. This is good because the site offers very little help. Each time we chose a help topic, we received the message, “We’re sorry, currently there are no available documents for this section. Please return to the previous page using your browser’s Back button and make another selection.”
When it comes to sharing your photos with others, this is a good online photo sharing service and there’s no way you can beat the price and storage—FREE and UNLIMITED.
